The Ghana Police Service has taken legal action against three individuals accused of sharing an intimate video involving broadcast journalist Serwaa Amihere. The suspects named by the law enforcement agency are Edem Saviour Ketti, Candylove Kwakyewaa Ababio, and Henry Amponsah, also known as Henry Fitz.

The charges filed against them include several counts related to sexual extortion and the intentional distribution of the intimate visual recording of Serwaa Amihere. These charges encompass allegations of conspiracy to commit a crime, specifically the non-consensual sharing of intimate images, as well as sexual extortion according to relevant sections of the Criminal Offenses Act 1960 and the Cyber Security Act 2020.

The legal action follows the circulation of a video on social media depicting Serwaa Amihere in bed with a man identified as Henry Fitz, reportedly filmed in 2019 before the man’s marriage. Allegations suggest that someone initially demanded payment from Serwaa Amihere to prevent the public sharing of nude pictures, with subsequent threats demanding additional sums of money.

According to police reports, despite payments made by Serwaa Amihere in response to the threats, the accused persons proceeded to publish the video. Serwaa Amihere reported the case to the police, leading to the arrest of the first accused, Edem Saviour Ketti, who admitted to his involvement during investigations. Efforts are ongoing to apprehend Henry Fitz, who is currently evading arrest.

The suit details the involvement of the accused individuals in the extortion scheme, including the registration of a mobile money account in Edem Saviour Ketti’s name, subsequent transfers to Candylove Kwakyewaa Ababio, and then to Henry Fitz. Investigations continue as law enforcement authorities work to bring all involved parties to justice.
