Seminar on Climate Action for Student Leaders at Accra Technical University, Ing. Peter Godslove Debrah to give Keynote Address

The glaring danger of climate change facing the world today requires that future leaders have the knowledge and skills to address effectively the phenomenon. In line with this, Frontline for Climate Action, in collaboration with the Student Parliament of Accra Technical University and sponsored by Pedlo Energy Ltd, is elated to announce a Climate Change Seminar scheduled for May 15th, 2024, at the Accra Technical University Auditorium.

The seminar which is under the theme “Equipping Student Leaders with the Science and Skills to Navigate the Climate Crisis and Succeed in a Dynamic Global Landscape,”  aims to introduce student leaders to the science and impacts of climate change, explore the intersection of climate change with the future of work, and build capacity among student leaders to address climate challenges and promote sustainability. Through facilitated discussions and collaboration, participants will develop actionable strategies for climate action.

The seminar will feature an impressive lineup of speakers, including Ing. Peter Godslove Debrah, CEO of Pedlo Energy Ltd., who will share insights on energy transition and equipping youth for the future. Hamza Suhini ESQ, CEO of the Institute of Climate and Environmental Governance, will delve into the crucial topic of climate justice. Patricia Odebia Bekoe, Administrative Secretary of 350 Ghana, will speak on redefining environmental governance for gender equity. Kwabena Nketia Addae, Executive Director of Ghana YMCA, will highlight the opportunities in climate change. Cedric Dzelu, Executive Director of Frontline for Climate Action, will provide a comprehensive understanding of the science and impact of climate change.

Through technical presentations, expert panels, and interactive workshops, participants can expect to gain an enhanced understanding of climate change and its implications, explore green economy and climate justice opportunities, strengthen their capacity for climate leadership, and cultivate collaboration to develop actionable strategies for climate action.
