Election 2024

Dr. Samuel Obeng Manteaw, the Senior Pastor of the Apostolic Church-Ghana, Calvary District in Madina, has emphasized the paramount importance of peace as Ghana prepares for the 2024 elections in December. He urged fellow citizens to prioritize peace in their actions and words, recognizing its pivotal role in maintaining the country’s status as a beacon of hope and stability in the sub-region and Africa as a whole.

Reflecting on Ghana’s history of peaceful transitions between successive governments under the fourth Republican constitution, Dr. Manteaw underscored the need for the nation to uphold democratic principles and demonstrate its capacity to anchor democracy in Africa.

He called for collective prayers for political actors, including Members of Parliament and presidential aspirants, urging them to align their campaigns with the growth and development of the nation. Dr. Manteaw stressed the importance of electing leaders who embody God’s values and principles.

In an interview following his Good Friday church service, Dr. Manteaw urged Ghanaians to support individuals and political parties with manifestos and agendas geared towards the advancement and prosperity of Ghana. He emphasized the need for active participation in the electoral process, urging citizens not to succumb to apathy but to engage actively and prayerfully until the polling day.

The Senior Law Lecturer at the University of Ghana Law School also urged eligible individuals to take advantage of the voter registration exercise conducted by the Electoral Commission, emphasizing the importance of exercising their civic duty responsibly.

He cautioned against engaging in divisive rhetoric and acrimonious activities during the electoral period, emphasizing the need for all actions to be conducted in a manner that glorifies God.

In conclusion, Dr. Manteaw reiterated the significance of peace, prayer, and responsible civic engagement in ensuring a successful and peaceful electoral process in December, emphasizing that ultimately, it is God who appoints leaders and directs the outcome of elections. He expressed hope that through collective efforts and divine guidance, Ghana would continue to serve as a shining example of democracy and stability in Africa.
